Welcome to the Food, Nutrition, and Wellness classroom for the 2020-2021 school year. My name is Brady Benson, and I am your Food, Nutrition and Wellness Instuctor. I have worked in the Hospitality Industry for 15 years. I graduated from The Culinary Institute of America, in Hyde Park New York. I grew up on a small farm in South Dakota. I have worked in places such as Kiawah Island Golf Resort Charleston SC, The Boca Raton Resort and Club- a Waldorf Astoria hotel in Boca Raton FL, and most recently Fresh N Fit Cuisine in Atlanta GA. I taught Culinary Arts in Paulding County and now am teaching in Colquitt. My wife is from Thomasville,GA, and it is her hometown and Flowers Foods that brings us to South Georgia. We have two boys and are excited to be in the area.
The goal of this pathway is to prepare students for careers in the field of Hospitality and Tourism, specifically Foods Science. Students will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in all aspects of the field from catered events to simple home cooked meals. Students will leave this classroom with an understanding of how to make healthy and delicious meals at home.
